We Need Your Help! One in seven people living in New York City have a learning disability. Nearly 11% of New Yorkers struggle daily with learning issues. This includes more than 750,00 older teens, young adults and adults.
Learning issues do not go away and have the potential to create lifelong challenges with education, work, community, relationships and everyday life. While in school, students are entitled to services to assist with their learning disabilities. However, these services can be inadequate or students with learning disabilities can go undiagnosed.
When LD students leave high school, public support for assistance programs almost completely disappears. Immediately, most of their lives start down a path where they are destine to struggle.
LDANYC can help people struggling with LD change their lives with our three cornerstone programs – Educational Readiness, Job Readiness and Life Readiness – but we need your help.
The need is urgent.
